The Artist

Lisa Robbins is a watercolour landscape painter based in Gore Bay on Manitoulin Island, Ontario. Deeply inspired by the natural beauty of her surroundings, she creates paintings that capture both the freshness and spontaneity of watercolour and the warmth of familiar, often nostalgic landscapes.

Her mission as an artist is to connect people to places they love, bringing joy, beauty, and a sense of belonging into everyday life. Known for building lasting relationships with her collectors, Lisa values the connections her art makes possible as much as the paintings themselves.

Through her practice, she embraces watercolour’s unique qualities, its luminous surprises and delicate subtleties, to create works that are both breathtaking discoveries and timeless reminders of the landscapes we hold dear.

The Inspiration

I am a watercolour landscape painter based in Gore Bay, on Manitoulin Island, Ontario. My work is inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds me, places that stir the heart, evoke joy, and invite a sense of belonging.

Through my paintings, I seek to connect people to landscapes they long to experience in their everyday lives. My mission is simple but meaningful: to bring joy, warmth, and beauty into the spaces where my collectors live and gather. The relationships I build through my art are as important to me as the paintings themselves; loyalty and connection run deep in my practice.

Watercolour is my chosen medium because it mirrors the qualities of the land I love. It is fresh, spontaneous, and full of breathtaking surprises, yet it also allows me to capture the familiar and nostalgic in delicate, lasting ways. Each painting is both a discovery and a return, an exploration of what is new and a celebration of what endures.

For me, art is more than an image on paper, it is a meaningful connection to the world, to memory, and to the people who share in that experience.
